    About this recipe

Basically Overnight Oats is made with basic ingredients like rolled oats and are soaked overnight (or for 6-8 hours) in a milk of your choice ( dairy or non dairy ) , yogurt, and fruits of choice to flavour up.

Mango Overnight Oats is full of tropical flavours with coconut and mangoes , a heavenly combination to taste .

What makes this overnight oats more like a dessert is , addition of mango puree ! Yes, it adds a creaminess to the dish making you to ask for more.

It's delicious , nutritious ,quick and simple what more one can ask in a breakfast. It gives everything from protein , fibre, carbs , minerals and vitamins.

Oh Yes , It's my superfood breafast bowl !

With overnight oats , there is nothing much of recipe or steps involved but trust me, right flavours and the measurement really matters. If you don't take right meaurements then you may end up with either soggy oats or thick lumpy oats !

I recommend you to follow the recipe card measurements for doing it right!

Oats – Overnight oats are best when made using rolled oats . Though instant oats tastes good too , it becomes too soggy . Whereas steel cut oats are not recommended as it becomes too hard to digest.

Yogurt – I use plain , homemade yogurt to soak the oats . You can use either full fat yogurt or skim yogurt in this recipe. Also plain greek yogurt , works fine here. For vegan version , replace dairy yogurt with any plant-based yogurt.

Milk – I use whole milk to soak the oats as it makes the dish creamy and rich. You can definitely use skim milk to make it low calories.

For vegan version , replace dairy milk with any plant-based milk like coconut milk , almond milk or oat milk.

Mangoes – Choose any sweet variety of ripe and juicy mangoes to make this overnight oats. I have used Indian variety , Kesar to make this recipe. You can use Alphonso or any other variety which is sweet to taste with less fibres. You will need both mango puree and mango cubes to make this recipe.

Coconut - Fresh grated coconut adds lots of flavour to this recipe , making it truly tropical . Though coconut adds lot of fresh flavour , if not available just skip it or as an alternative use dessicated coconut .

Others – You will also need chia seeds, honey, and vanilla extract. Vegan's can replace honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.

Toppings - I add some raisins , chia , pimpkin seeds, chopped almonds and pistachios with some fresh mangoes and coconut. Feel free to add any seeds and nuts of your choice to make your super healthy breakfast bowl.

    Top Tip

To make it more healthy , you can add some extra protein to your mango oats , stir in a scoop of protein powder just before serving and top it with your favourite toppings.
